Welcome to the April Newsletter.
The drought appears to have ended for a substantial part of the state with 39.8% of the state drought declared. The New England and the southern districts are however, still largely drought affected. We all hope these areas will soon receive rain.

The Environmental Defender's Office Ltd, (EDO), is a not-for-profit community legal centre specialising in public interest environmental law. The EDO helps individuals and community groups who are working to protect the natural and built environment.
The Office is part of a national network of centres that help to protect the environment through law in their States. They have an active program of casework, education and law reform. In addition, they provide free initial legal advice to the community.
From their Northern Rivers office the EDO runs free seminars, including a recent seminar on Climate change after Copenhagen.
