2012 Year of the Farmer

DAFF has welcomed 2012 — the Australian Year of the Farmer — as an opportunity for all Australians to celebrate the significant contribution our farmers make to the country. Australian farmers and their industries do the hard work involved in producing, processing, handling and selling produce from 136,000 farms across the country, which generate more than $405 billion each year. Natural Disaster

31st January 2012  Following recent flooding, Natural Disaster Declarations now apply to the Bellingen, Byron, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Tweed Shire areas.

A number of suppportive schemes are now available to assist residents, business owners and farmers with the cost of restoration and recovery. CLICK HERE to download information about assistance available.
