The State’s farmers are on a knife’s edge that could see a bumper harvest deliver a record $2.8 billion winter crop, Minister for Primary Industries, Steve Whan, said today . “That’s more than double the annual average of the last drought-stricken decade according to Industry & Investment NSW,” Minister Whan said.

Two Industry & Investment NSW staff members based in Tamworth have been awarded AgQuip’s Brownhill Cup for their contribution into the research and development of the chickpea industry, Minister for Primary Industries, Steve Whan, announced today.
Minister Whan congratulated senior research scientist, Ted Knights and plant pathologist, Dr Kevin Moore for being awarded the prestigious prize.

n additional 17 tenders have been received in the second round of the NSW Sustaining the Basin: Border Rivers-Gwydir pilot project, Minister for Primary Industries Steve Whan said today.
Minister Whan said the 17 tenders from the State’s north west will be technically assessed and if they are successful in attracting funding, they will deliver significant water savings for NSW.
